The new Export to STL option allows you to utilize dtm projects 1 and 2 to make a watertight model suitable for 3D printing.
In the video it is important to note that project 1 will start off with the dtm model you want to print. New points in project 2 are then created as a flat base surface with an elevation that is equal or lower than the lowest point in pro 1.
Gxt strings are used to create the points in pro 2, parallel to the triangle sides of pro 1.
Summary: Pro 1 is the top and pro 2 is the bottom model. Pro 2 is slightly larger than pro 1 and all it's elevations are flat. The gxt string used to generate the points in pro 2 is also used to generate the same points in pro 1. Pro 1 and 2 therefore share the same perimeter points and together makes a watertight model.
Great!
